in your humble opinion

I can’t watch the Travel Channel without getting wiggly. Why am I sitting on my couch when there are so many places to see? The girl I met at brunch is going to Peru. I’ve never been to Peru; I should go there! And my friend Jen is planning a trip to Vietnam. I need to go there, too.

So, what I want to know is, what’s your must-see exotic locale? What should I be adding to my itinerary-of-the-future?

I can’t wait to read. And then, tomorrow-ish, we’ll get back to Italy. I am dying to tell you just how truly kick-ass Rome is. Even in a monsoon, with your jeans soaked to your knees.

  6. Egypt! Africa! Alaska!

  7. Some of my favorite places…Santorini, Greece, Copenhagen, and South Korea. I would go back to all of them in a heartbeat.

  10. Dear mami,
I think you should check out more South America is so interesting and so much to see there. Definetly Peru, Argentina, Chile, Brazil…

And for Fun Of Course, go to mi tierra the Dominican Republic, once you are there, get out of the resort. You’ll love it.

  11. You’ve already been to mine: Paris! :) I am planning a trip to Hungary in the spring, though. If you find yourself there before the end of March 2008, please tell us about it!! :)

  12. After 5 years in Asia and passionately loving what it has to offer (Bali, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Burma, Hong Kong, etc.) I’m moving to South America to see what it has to offer. Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia? Bring it on!

  13. Next week I’m flying half way around the world to Guatemala. I can’t wait!!

  14. Right now Italy is #1 on my list - so I’m very much enjoying reading about your recent travels!

I made a goal for 2008 to visit at least two places I’ve never been before. I think I’m hitting New Orleans in February…

  15. Hiroshima and Miyajima, Japan. The Great Wall. Also, a little place called Ralley in South East Thailand.

  16. I’m going to Ushuaia over christmas! just spelling it is an adeventure — plus, they have PENGUINS!!

  17. Well, I’m headed to Central Asia (one of the “-stans”) for the second time in February, and very psyched, but I know I’m just a bit insane.

My dream is to do a loop of the Mediterranean: Morocco, Portugal, Spain, the South of France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, etc…

  18. I work for a travel company, and last year we did a dual-destination to Cambodia and Vietnam. Vietnam was beautiful, but I really recommend Siem Reap, Cambodia. Visit Angkor Wat (gorgeous!) and the other ruins around it. The people there are just wonderful… friendly despite desperately poor living conditions.

  19. Tanzania! Kenya! Zanzibar! Scuba diving, mountains to climb and monkeys… how could it be better?

  20. oh and the red sea!

    (sorry wrong mail before)

  21. I want to go everywhere on this list.

  22. I have to second a couple people and say Turkey. Just got back and it was truly an amazing adventure!

  23. Dubrovnic, Croatia and anywhere in Greece. Santorini, Athens, and Dubrovnic all brought tears to my eyes . . . the beauty and power of these ancient places were overwhelming!

  24. Chile, Kenya, Laos, rest of Cambodia (Siem Reap is the most amazing place), New Zealand, Maldives, Churchill, Manitoba (to see the polar bears), Antarctica (a girl should hit all continents)

  25. I’ll echo Cartagena, Colombia and add Havana, Cuba. Both richly wonderful eyeful happening places…with loads LOADS to enjoy. And *bonus* cheap.

  26. Petra. Temple at Angkor Wat. Antarctica. The Kimberley, Western Australia (have been many times and always long to return.)

  27. Buenos Aires, Greece, Turkey, Brazil, India (again), Zanzibar and Croatia. (This is just an excerpt - in reality I want to go everywhere.)
